Ek Tara
FASHION DESIGNING VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME
Objective:
Provide disadvantaged young women with vocational skills in fashion design.
Outcome:
Participants displayed their work at a public exhibition at Mahadevi Birla World Academy and received certificates.
Impact story:
Humairah Khan secured a paid internship after completion of the vocational training.
Direct Beneficiaries:
20 young women.
Bakery training programme
Objective:
Equip marginalised women with baking skills to enhance their employability, encourage entrepreneurship, and promote financial independence.
Outcome:
Seven women were selected for paid internships, and they now produce different snack items for 1000+ children at the Ek Tara Learning Centre
Direct Beneficiaries:
9 marginalised women.
Sambitsutra
Objective:
Equip young women and caregivers of special children with practical vocational skills to promote self-reliance and financial independence.
Outcome:
Training in jewellery making, handicrafts, and fabric painting was imparted. A new training centre in Bamongachi, Barasat, has been set up.
Direct Beneficiaries:
Ten (10) specially abled young women enrolled in our course, as well as nine (9) caregivers.
