Our R&D centre in Kolkata, India, is at the heart of our work. Established in 1976 under the leadership of eminent scientists, the centre has since gained recognition under the Department of Science and Industrial Research (DSIR). It is equipped with a Chemical and Physical Laboratory, Cell Testing Facility, Pilot Plant, and other state-of-the-art testing facilities to meet advanced requirements.

Eveready’s innovation is supported by a network of NABL-accredited testing laboratories, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. For batteries, our Chemical Lab and CVMA Lab (Computerised Voltage Measuring Apparatus) test a wide range of batteries in line with Indian and international standards. For lighting, we operate a Central Testing Lab, a D&D Electronics Lab and a Professional Luminaires Lab in Mumbai. Together, these facilities strengthen our market leadership and support the development of world-class, reliable and eco-friendly solutions.

Manufacturing of dry cell batteries requires robust R&D. At Eveready, we use 30-35 raw materials for making these cells, each undergoing over 315 physico-chemical checks before the actual production begins. During the manufacturing process, 110-120 process parameters are verified, ensuring 100% compliance. Additionally, every battery undergoes rigorous voltage and amperage testing to prevent defects. Backed by our advanced R&D Centre, these processes help ensure safe, reliable, and high-performance batteries for every customer.
